Office Etiquette

Here are some best practices to help everyone stay happy and focused in an open concept office layout in our Portland HQ.

• Let your coworkers know what you need regarding volume, space, and any other desired working conditions often by communicating openly and non-violently, such as speaking directly with coworkers, communicating your needs to your manager, posting requests in Slack, etc.
• Try not to interrupt coworkers who have on headphones—this is our universal sign to each other that we really need to focus.
• Please try to take personal calls in a conference room, our lobby, or walkway.
• We have mobile dry erase boards, dry erase boards in conference rooms, and two dry erase walls located outside the kitchen. Markers and cleaning supplies are located in caddy's on the dry erase walls and extra supplies are located in the office bookcases. Please erase your material once you are done with it.
• Have fun!

COVID-19 Protocols

• Employees may not use the Ride Report office if they have shown symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 3 days, have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been exposed to a known case of COVID-19 for longer than 5 minutes in the past 3 days.
• All employees using the Ride Report office are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
• All employees using the Ride Report office must wear a mask at all times, except in the following circumstances:
  • While you are actively eating or drinking
  • When you are the sole occupant of a conference room that is equipped with a HEPA air filter (there are 4 rooms total)
  • When you are the sole occupant of the office
• All employees using the office are required to record their attendance on our RR In Office shared calendar, or our #topic-office-irl Slack channel

Are you the last one to leave the office? If so please do the following:

• Turn off all lights including overhead lights, hanging lights, kitchen lights, and conference room lights. Overhead light switches are next to the thermostat by our entry door, kitchen light switches are located on our dry erase wall and on the green kitchen wall above the garbage can, and directly on the plugged in light fixture in the kitchen.
• Check to see if the dishwasher needs to run, and if so, start it! Detergent is located under the sink. Please select the auto setting, press start, close the door, and change the dishwasher magnet to "Running".
• Thermostat check! On weekdays, please set to 68F Heat in winter, or 75F Cool in summer. On Fridays, turn the thermostat to fan.
• Lock both doors.
